Privacy Policy
We ask for body measurements, which is personal in a way most waitlists aren't. This page explains exactly what we hold, who touches it, and how to make us delete it.
This policy covers skinnyfatology.com and the waitlist that runs on it. "We" and "Skinnyfatology" mean the operator of this site. If anything here is unclear, email privacy@skinnyfatology.com and we'll answer in plain language.
What we collect
Only what you type into the waitlist form. Email is the sole requirement — every other field is optional, and leaving one blank does not affect your place in line.
| What | Why we ask | |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Required | To confirm your spot and contact you when the cohort opens. |
| Where you're located | Optional | To understand where members are and plan in-person assessments. |
| Whether you've had a DEXA or body composition scan | Optional | To know what baseline data you already have. |
| Weight, height, waist and hip measurements | Optional | To assess whether the program is a fit for you before enrollment. |
| Phone number | Optional | Asked only after payment, so we can reach you faster than email. |
We derive one value from what you give us: your waist-to-hip ratio, calculated from the two measurements. We store it alongside them.
What we never receive
Your card number, expiry, and security code go directly from your browser to Stripe on Stripe's own checkout page. They never pass through this site or reach any server we control. We can see that a payment succeeded and the last four digits Stripe shows us — nothing more.
Your measurements are health-adjacent, so we'll be direct
Skinnyfatology is not a healthcare provider, and this is not medical care. We are not a HIPAA-covered entity, and the information you give us is not protected health information under that law. It is treated as ordinary personal data with the extra care described on this page.
Nothing on this site is a diagnosis, and nothing here substitutes for advice from a clinician who has examined you.
In practice, we treat measurements as sensitive: they are visible only to the people running the waitlist, are never used for advertising, and are never sold or shared for anyone else's marketing. If you would rather not share them, submit the form with just your email.
Who else touches your data
Two companies, each doing one job. We have no other integrations — no analytics, no advertising networks, no data brokers, no email marketing platform.
| Who | What they do | What they see |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Processes the $1 payment and stores waitlist records. | Your card details, plus everything you entered in the form — Stripe is where your record lives. |
| Vercel | Hosts the website. | Standard server logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps. |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety. If Skinnyfatology is ever sold or merges with another company, waitlist records would transfer as part of that — and we would email you before it took effect.
No cookies, no tracking
This site sets no cookies. It uses no analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording, and no cross-site tracking of any kind. Nothing is stored in your browser between visits.
We also self-host our typefaces rather than loading them from Google Fonts, so viewing this site sends no request to any third party at all. Your browser talks only to us.
Stripe's checkout page, which is separate from this site, does set cookies necessary for processing your payment and preventing fraud. That is governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
We do not sell your data
We have never sold or shared personal information for money or for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have no plans to. Your measurements will not be used to target you with ads anywhere.
How long we keep it
- If you join and stay on the list — until the cohort you're waiting for has been filled and contacted, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.
- If you entered your email but never paid — up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Payment records — Stripe retains transaction records for as long as financial and tax rules require, typically seven years. This is outside our control and applies even after we delete your waitlist record.
Your choices
Email privacy@skinnyfatology.com from the address you signed up with and we will action any of the following within 30 days, free of charge:
- See it — we'll send you everything we hold on you.
- Fix it — correct anything wrong or out of date.
- Delete it — we'll remove your waitlist record entirely. Note that the $1 payment record stays with Stripe for the accounting period described above.
- Withdraw a measurement — you can have the body measurements removed while staying on the waitlist.
- Stop hearing from us — we'll take you off the list completely.
We will never charge you or make you jump through hoops for any of this, and we won't treat you differently for asking.
If you live in California
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, to request deletion or correction, to opt out of sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Everything above is how we honor them. Because we don't sell or share personal information, there is no opt-out for you to submit — but you're welcome to confirm that with us.
Security
The site is served entirely over HTTPS. Waitlist records live in Stripe, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified — the strictest tier in the payments industry. Access is limited to the people running the waitlist.
No system is perfectly secure, and we won't claim otherwise. If we ever discover a breach affecting your information, we will email you and tell you what happened.
Children
This site is for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted the form, email us and we'll delete it immediately.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. For anything significant — a new company handling your data, or a new purpose for it — we'll email everyone on the waitlist rather than quietly editing this page.
